BOTOX® Faqs

How does BOTOX work?

“BOTOX” is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows (corrugator and procerus muscles). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that cause moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

Yes, the muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.

What will happen to moderate to severe frown lines between my brows if I choose not to continue treatments?

If you do not continue treatments, the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows will gradually return to the way they looked before treatment.

Stimulators FAQ

What are stimulators?

Stimulators are volumizing fillers that work by stimulating collagen production adding volume under the skin to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the nasolabial folds.  Radiesse is a stimulator that is used in our office. Radiesse is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier

How do stimulators work?

Once injected, Radiesse provides immediate volume and correction while continuing to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen. CaHA is absorbed by the body and metabolized leaving only your own natural collagen.
